The Big Tartini Band was formed in 2012 as a specific project of the Tartini Conservatory of Trieste through the initiative of Klaus Gesing, composer, improviser and saxophone player.
The BTB plays different authors and genres, from Count Basie to modern authors, such as Maria Schneider and Chick Corea.
Particular importance is given to the presentation of compositions written by students of the jazz course, including Piovesan’s tunes that, thanks to the BTB, learns and improves the techniques of writing, orchestration and arrangement.
The BTB debuted in 2012 at the 1st edition of the Salone Trieste Next. Since then, the Band has played prestigious audiences of national and international entertainment, such as the Mittelfest in Cividale del Friuli, where it performed in July 2013.
